Visitors to Duke Farms should register for classes and activities in advance, as public access to the property is by reservation only. No registration is necessary for our Walk on the Wild Side self-guided nature trail, open Friday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., however, we do ask that groups of 20 or more please call in advance.
Duke Farms is located in central New Jersey at 80 Route 206 South in Hillsborough.

All programs and tours offered by Duke Farms require RESERVED tickets unless otherwise noted.

What You Need to Know
Planning Your Trip
- The Walk on the Wild Side self-guided nature tour takes approximately one hour.
- Programs operate rain or shine unless otherwise noted. However, it is always a good idea to check the weather before you come to make sure you have the right clothing for your visit. If there are severe weather conditions on the day of your tour, please call the main Duke Farms phone line at (908) 722-3700. A recording will be activated to inform visitors if tours are cancelled. If no weather-related announcement is heard, then tours have not been cancelled. In the event that your tour is cancelled, you may call Duke Farms to request a refund or reschedule your program or tour.
Tour and Program Accessibility
- The Walk on the Wild Side self-guided nature trail is handicap accessible and stroller-friendly, but is an outdoor trail that follows unpaved paths.
Appropriate Footwear
- For the Walk On The Wild Side, comfortable outdoor walking shoes are strongly encouraged.
Photography
- Photography for personal (non-commercial) use only is allowed on the Walk on the Wild Side trail. Photography is allowed as long as it does not disturb others.
- Videotaping or sound recording devices are not permitted.
Pet Policy
- For the protection of wildlife, trees and plants at Duke Farms, pets are not allowed on the property.
Cell Phones
- To help ensure that everyone enjoys their experience at Duke Farms, the use of cell phones is not permitted during programs or on bike tours.
