DESCRIPTION:If a tree falls in a forest\, we’ll be there to hear it.\n\n\nMost of us take in nature’s charms eyes-first\, but there’s just as much splendor to be found in sound. All you have to do is take time to tune in—and on this walk\, we’ll do just that. What does the depth of summer sound like\, anyway? Birds and katydids make first chair\, sure. But somewhere out there are squeaking bats\, gurgling trees\, and curious little bugs turning plants into their personal kazoos. With amplified attention and some specialized gear\, let’s leavesdrop on the summertime soundscapes of Duke Farms. \n\n\nProgram Guidelines\nRegistration is required. Please let us know if you are no longer able to attend so your space can be offered to someone else. Cancellations received at least 48 hours in advance are eligible for a refund\, if applicable. \nPrograms at Duke Farms are held rain or shine\, but in the event of severe weather\, classes may be canceled. Email notice will be given as early as possible via email and refunds will be issued in the case of cancellations. \nWe provide reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities. If a reasonable accommodation is needed to participate\, please contact us at registrations@dukefarms.org. \n\n\nAccessibility\nThis class involves traveling about 1 mile on paved (stroller- and wheelchair-accessible) surfaces\, with participants moving for the entire duration.
