The Story So Far

The female Bald Eagle produced an egg on Thursday, Feb. 18, and Sunday, Feb. 21. Both parents have been incubating the eggs. Since three days usually lapse between egg arrivals, it appears that the eagles will incubate  two chicks this year, which -- as they have demonstrated in years past -- they have been very good at. Incubation is typically 35 days, which means that the first chick could well arrive on Thursday, March 26, and the second on Sunday, March 29. This is Duke Farms' version of  March Madness. As Ustream viewers have pointed out, the second egg is due to hatch on Easter Sunday.
