About This Event

If “grey hairstreak” sounds like a bold style choice and a “question mark” is just that, this is the class for you.

August is the best time of year to learn about our butterflies in New Jersey. The weather is hot, the sun is bright, and the meadows are booming with blooming wildflowers. In this introductory class, participants will walk through two different meadows to learn about and observe some of our most common native butterflies. One of our most well-known native butterflies, the monarch, will be making its journey south for the winter, and if we’re lucky, we’ll get the chance to spot them too!

Check out more upcoming classes in the For Starters series.
