About This Event

Phenology: phe·nol·o·gy (noun): study of cyclic and seasonal natural phenomena, especially in relation to climate, plant and animals.

As fall unfolds, take time to read the land for signs of the changing seasons – the last of the leaves falling, cooler temperatures and shorter days, squirrels and chipmunks preparing nut caches for the upcoming winter, and birds migrating south. We’ll keep an eye out for these fascinating seasonal occurrences while discussing lesser noticed, yet still fascinating, signs of fall like what birds are migrating through New Jersey? What is tree masting? What are “big trees?”

Come find out on this trek through Duke Farms to learn more about these autumnal happenings.
