A Duke Farms membership supports the wildlife conservation, habitat restoration, and clean energy transition happening on campus. It allows us to be a living demonstration of a nature positive, carbon negative future.
People become members of Duke Farms to gain a deeper understanding of how large-scale restoration and climate-smart operations work in real time. Membership offers access to information and experiences that reveal the systems behind the landscape — and invites you to be part of our progress.
Duke Farms offers three membership categories:
Explorer – $75
Naturalist – $125
Trailblazer – $250
All members receive access to member-exclusive events and discounts on classes, Café purchases, and bike rentals. Higher tiers offer deeper discounts and expanded opportunities to engage.
Membership dues are not tax-deductible. Because the fair-market value of member benefits equals the cost of dues, the IRS considers membership an exchange rather than a charitable contribution.
Members receive:
Membership does not include guaranteed bike rental availability, free Café purchases, free admission to ticketed classes, guaranteed access to limited-capacity events, early or special trail or building access, or free private event rentals. Discounts apply where offered, but standard program fees may still be in effect.
Immediately. New members receive a welcome series of emails introducing Duke Farms and your role in our community. Members also receive the bimonthly Duke Farms Insider newsletter.
Memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable. You may cancel at any time, but refunds and partial-year credits are not available.
Membership provides special invitations and early opportunities to register, but does not guarantee access. Some classes and events have limited capacity, so early registration is encouraged.
