Duke Farms, located on 2,740 acres in Hillsborough, Somerset County, N.J., is one of the largest privately-owned parcels of undeveloped land in the state. Owned and supported by Duke Farms Foundation, an operating foundation of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, Duke Farms is rich in ecological, horticultural and agricultural resources.
Through the beauty of its natural setting, the diversity of its wildlife, and the scope and quality of its educational programs, demonstrations and research, Duke Farms inspires people to transform their approach to conservation and to start building a more sustainable future. Limited Parking Notice - Follow @DFParking Twitter Feed for Updates!!
(please do not call the main # for parking updates. All parking updates are on Twitter)
The public loves Duke Farms, and we love to share this special place with visitors. We don’t, however, want to love it to death, and we need to manage visitation for the benefit of our visitors, as well as for the plants and animals that call Duke Farms home. This is why we limit visitation based on available parking.
Duke Farms considers the property full when all the parking spaces are occupied. Once this happens, our parking areas will be temporarily closed. In nice weather, this is most likely to happen on weekends (especially on Sundays) or holidays, so be sure to plan accordingly by carpooling, using alternative transportation (including our new train station shuttle) and/or by planning your trip for off peak hours such as early mornings or later in the afternoons.
If you arrive at Duke Farms and find the parking area temporarily closed, please visit Somerset County Tourism website or the NJ Skylands website for information on other nearby recreational opportunities. For capacity closure updates, follow us on Twitter at @DFParking
