Finally Fall: Prepping Native Seeds

Fall is a great time to gather seeds for some late season planting! Through this resource, learners will discover how to prep seeds for planting. Thankfully, some seeds don't need much care and can be sowed directly into the ground come springtime. Other seeds, like some native plants, need more attention and must go through cold stratification and warm stratification. This resource will familiarize learners with these plant processes when cultivating plants from seed.

Fall is a perfect time to get outside and we hope that our November articles will inspire your next open-air explorations and prompt your further investigations.  This is a busy time for nature, and we will highlight just a few of the happenings that occur above our heads, on ground level, and even beneath our feet as the displays of color, beauty and activities contribute to the concert of autumnal abundance.

Fall is a great time to gather seeds for some late season planting! Through this resource, learners will discover how to prep seeds for planting. Now, before planting for the springtime, regardless of your planting area size, it's a good idea to map out which plants you want to have in your space and how you want them laid out. From there, collect or purchase your seeds. It's a good idea to keep them organized and sorted. Thankfully, some seeds don't need much care and can be sowed directly into the ground come springtime.
