Sustainability September: LEED Certification

In 1993, an organization called the US Green Building Council was formed to establish a standard for what constitutes a "green building". The council established a baseline for virtually all building types, taking many factors into consideration: energy efficiency, generation of less waste, and water conservation, to name a few. There are currently four levels of verification evaluated by LEED that qualify a building for LEED certification.

Foreword, A Sand County Almanac

Sustainability September will highlight how Duke Farms serves as a model of environmental stewardship and ways that you can infuse practices in your home, community, and workplace that encourage a cleaner greener life for generations to come while also combating climate change.
