Spend a Saturday at Duke Farms exploring our relationship with nature through music, wildlife and storytelling. Hosted by Jad Abumrad, Wild by Nature brings together a live performance, and the story of an owl who made an entire city look up.

2:00 p.m. | Wild Inside

In 2023, Flaco the owl escaped the Central Park Zoo and learned to live wild in Manhattan. New Yorkers followed him across rooftops and water towers—and one owl gave an entire city a reason to look up.

Wild Inside director Penny Lane joins Jad Abumrad for film clips and a conversation about wildness, freedom, resilience and why Flaco gave so many people something to believe in.

Every ticket includes the full program, lunch and a one-year Duke Farms Explorer membership.

Fifty tickets also include round-trip bus transportation from New York City at no additional cost. Select the ticket including transportation during registration.

Brandee Younger is a Grammy-nominated harpist, composer and 2025 Doris Duke Artist revolutionizing the harp’s role in modern music.

Penny Lane is an award-winning documentary filmmaker whose work includes Listening to Kenny G and Confessions of a Good Samaritan.

Jad Abumrad is the creator of Radiolab, More Perfect and Dolly Parton’s America. He is a Peabody Award-winning audio storyteller, musician and composer.
