About This Event

Join Seasonal Educator Toni for an introductory tree ID walk that showcases their diversity and importance in nature!

As constant yet vital features of our landscapes, trees can be easy to take for granted compared to fleeting wildflowers or chance wildlife sightings. Many types of trees literally build and define the habitat wildlife (and humans) depend on, each doing so with their own unique lifestyles and appearances. Join us on an introductory guided walk to learn their defining traits, appreciate their amazing diversity, and explore the roles they perform for our ecosystems. In turn, we will also reflect on Duke Farms’s land use history and restoration efforts that have brought back our campus’s forests.

We will be meeting first behind the Farm Barn Orientation Center before departing for our program!
