Coming This Winter: The Duke Farms Eagle eBook

Duke Farms is pleased to announce "The Bald Eagles of Duke Farms," an upcoming  free eBook with everything you need to know about the celebrated nest, its occupants, and the videocam that has enabled viewers around the world to watch the eagle family. In the meantime, Duke Farms is working diligently with a AV consultant to install a new camera during the August December time frame. The photo-rich eBook will be available as a download for laptops and tablets in time for the beginning of the 2016 nesting season, and will also be viewable on-line. The author is  Jim Wright, who writes the popular posts about the eagles for Duke Farms' "Behind the Stone Walls" blog,

The  book will also pay tribute to the Bald Eagle's incredible comeback in New Jersey -- less than four decades ago that state was down to one remaining nesting pair, and its prospects were bleak. Other chapters will cover the Eagle Cam in the classroom, the Bald Eagle in Native American cultures, and the other at-risk species that nest on the 2,750-acre property. Duke Farms, located on 2,740 acres in Hillsborough, Somerset County, N.J., is one of the largest privately owned parcels of undeveloped land in the state. Owned and supported by Duke Farms Foundation, an operating foundation of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, Duke Farms is rich in ecological, horticultural and agricultural resources.
