In the Classroom
Too far away from Duke Farms but still want to teach your students about habitats and sustainability? For those educators that can't make it out to Duke Farms, we've compiled resources for use in the classroom. Teach remotely about our Eagle Cam, shrinking habitats, food chains and the environment, watershed and others. Some of these lesson plans have been created by the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey, the New Jersey Audubon and even teachers from around the state.
If you have any questions or concerns about bringing your students to Duke Farms or would like to see additional lesson plans, please email Kate Reilly, Manager of Education at kreilly@dukefarms.org or call her at 908-243-3626.
Eagle Kits for the Classroom
We've compiled all of our eagle-themed lessons, several storybooks and field guides, life-sized replicas of an eagle egg, skull, and talon, a life-sized wingspan cutout and vinyl eagle photo and even an eagle costume! Eagle Kits are free for educators to borrow for up to three weeks at a time.
