Saturday Pass Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When is Duke Farms open? What are the hours?
A: Our ours are seasonal. From April 1 to November 1, hours are 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, Tuesday - Saturday. Duke Farms is CLOSED Sunday and Monday.
From November 1 to March 31, our closing time changes to 4:30 pm.
Our Farmers Market is open while the trails are closed on Sundays from May through Mid-October. For more Duke Farms Market info, visit our market page.
Q: How much does entry cost?
A: Entry is always free. However, visitors looking to come on Saturdays need to reserve a free entry pass here. Spaces are limited.
Q: How many free entry passes do I need to reserve?
A: Free entry passes are one per car.
Q: If I am dropped off at Duke Farms or enter on a bicycle, do I still need an entry pass?
A: Visitors entering the park on foot or by bike do not require an entry pass as they do not need a parking space - bicyclists and pedestrians may enter from the Raritan Gate and Conservation Gate ONLY.
Q: Can I bike to Duke Farms?
A: We know people like to bike to Duke Farms - cyclists can enter through the Raritan Gate and Conservation Gate only.
Q: When do I need to reserve free entry passes? Where can I reserve them?
A: You only need passes if you plan on visiting on Saturday. You can reserve them here or call to reserve at (908) 722-3700. Please do not call us for reservations if you find the link sold out.
Reservations for free entry passes will be released weekly. Visitors can reserve entry one week in advance.
Q: What happens if I reserve a free entry pass but don't show up?
A: Entry passes are free, but we ask that you cancel your pass through Eventbrite so we can offer a free entry pass to another car for others to enjoy the property.
Q: I decided to bring more people - do I need to reserve more free entry passes?
A: The passes are based on your car, not the number of people in your group. If your extra guests require an additional vehicle, then another free entry pass is required. Carpooling is encouraged!
Q: Will I be turned away if I don't reserve an entry pass?
A: Yes, only vehicles with a free entry pass will be allowed to enter Duke Farms on Saturdays.
Q: What happens if I'm late/early to my reservation?
A: Free entry passes are for the day, not a specific time. Entrance is allowed during the day of the reservation, between the hours of 8:30 am - 5:30 pm. Duke Farms closes at 6:00 pm. Please be mindful of operating hours when planning your trip.
Q: Will activities and tours be available during my visit?
A: There is a range of opportunities available during your visit. Please see dukefarms.org, the app, or ask a staff member/volunteer for details.
Q: Are bathrooms open?
A: The bathrooms in the Farm Barn Orientation Center are open - the rest of the building is closed. The composting toilets on the trails are also open.
Q: Is Duke Farms open on holidays?
A: Visitors planning to visit Duke Farms are required to reserve free entry passes on Saturdays. Please note that Duke Farms is always closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's, Sundays, and Mondays.

Q: I registered for a Saturday program- do I need to reserve a free entry pass?
A: No, entry passes are included in your program registration.
Q: How early in advance can I/should I reserve a free entry pass?
A: Free entry passes are available a week in advance.
Q: Can I transfer my entry pass to a different date if I'm not able to make it? Can I transfer it to a different person?
A: Free entry pass reservations are non-transferable.
Q: Someone is trying to sell me an entry pass - are these legitimate?
A: No. Duke Farms entry will always be free. Please contact us at info@dukefarms.org if someone is selling fraudulent passes.
Q: Can I still come in and walk around when Duke Farms is closed?
A: No, Duke Farms entry gates are locked to bar entry when closed.

Q: Is there a time limit to my visit?
A: Free entry passes are for the whole day - however, please be mindful that Duke Farms closes at 6:00 pm, and at 4:30 pm after November 2, 2021.

Q: In case of emergency, who do I contact?
A: You can contact safety & security at (908) 243 3600. Security will send a staff member to your location. You can also call 911 directly and the county will dispatch emergency first responders to your location.

Saturday entry is managed via a reservation system of free entry passes on Eventbrite.
Q: Where is my reservation?
A: When you reserve a pass through Eventbrite, you will receive an email confirmation. Look for an email from orders@eventbrite.com. Please note that sometimes these emails go to your spam folder.
Q: Do I need to print and bring a physical pass?
A: Digital, contact-free passes are preferred; however, printed free entry passes are acceptable.
